If you’re familiar with downtown Plymouth, you will have seen the Parkside Condos project. The building is across Junction from Wilcox House and next to the Gathering on Penniman. The project is built on the site of the old Masonic Temple.
For a new build, it’s impressive. But other than being cleaned up — as ordered by the City — the project seems to have completely stalled months ago. From what I can see, little or nothing appears to be happening on site.
I understand times are tough. This project, though, was started when the market was already bad. It has since gotten horrible, as we all know. I wonder if the problem is that developer cannot sell the units. I’ve heard rumors that I would never repeat without substantiation (but then, of course, they would no longer be rumors.) Whatever the problems might be, I hope the project gets finished soon. An empty, unfinished building is something of an eyesore in my opinion.
