Determined to find a happier, more fulfilling place to live and raise our daughter, we moved to Plymouth, Michigan in December 2005. I grew up a few miles from here and started our family in my hometown. Although it was the place of my youth, it lacked the small town feel, strong community spirit and numerous, cultural, social and recreational opportunities Plymouth provides.
As a kid, I visited Traverse City, Michigan a lot as I had family there. Even at a really young age, 5 or 6 years old, I knew that I wanted to live in that kind of town. It just fit me or I fit it. Plymouth is that kind of town (minus the water) and I love living here.
I’ve worked and hung out here for years; I feel like I’ve been here all my life. I don’t think I could ever again live where I grew up.
This blog is about life here in (and around) town. I try to be lighthearted at times and serious at others. A bit more of my dorky side shows on this blog. Feel free to comment as often as you’d like.

I also have a few other blogs you might like. One is about random stuff or personal things and the other is about music.
I absolutely LOVE Traverse City. I’ve only ever been a couple of times, but it is phenomenal and gorgeous. One of those places that if money and making a living were no object, I’d move there in a heart beat.
You’ve got an interesting blog here. Hope you don’t mind if I peruse through. Thanks for the stop by my blog. I’d love to open a bit of dialogue about what you find interesting and how you feel about it. All about having good conversation!
Thanks Michelle. Stop back by any time. I’ll be sure to drop by your blog and comment, if you don’t mind.
Hey ourboy, can you help out some old car dealership fans? Where do you think this Ford dealer/garage was located?

Dude, I’ll do some digging. I don’t recognize the building and there aren’t enough details of the surrounding area for me to take a stab at where it was. My wild guess is that was in Old Village, but I could be (am probably) wrong.
This is where the pic came from.

explanation of the pic…
According to the description, the garage was located on Main Street, across from the Markham Air Rifle Company, though by that time, Daisy (located directly across the railroad tracks) had bought out Markham.
Dude, OK, then I know exactly where that building is or was. There’s an empty lot on that side of the street right next to the railroad tracks. To the immediate east of that is an old building in which there is now an antique refinishing store. I’m going to check that existing building to see if it is the old dealership building.
By the way, I was in the Markham Building last night. I’m in there a few times a month for business.
